Oh dear Quiltalongers! You have a busy month ahead of you this month, so I hope you are all up to date!!??!!

This month you will be sewing your last set of blocks for your quilt.

Nine Patch Block for Quiltalong

Nine Patch Variation

PLUS you will be cutting (as forewarned on a previous post) and appliquéing your squares for sashing.

Squares cut ready for sashing

Sashing Squares

Hearts appliquéd to squares ready for sashing

Appliquéd Sashing Squares

If you think I have been working you hard so far, you ain’t seen nothing yet! WoW! You really do need to keep up to date! There is lots do to in these final months. I am hoping that you are all so excited about putting these blocks together, that it will be a breeze. I intentionally timed the hard work to be towards the end of the summer, so that hopefully all your exciting summer activities are coming to an end and you will be approaching the ‘sewing season’.

You will probably have also noticed that I have published this month’s set of instructions a day early. This is just in case the weather is bad today and you have a free day for sewing.

So, after all of that scaremongering…..  if you are still up for it….. go to Quiltalong – August to download your next instructions.

Note: After a lot of research, I really couldn’t come up with an official name for this last block and I feel that ‘nine patch variation’ is a little unexciting, so would be happy to hear your suggestions.

Finally, and maybe most importantly, don’t forget to let me know how your Quiltalong is coming along, in the comments below. I need to know that I haven’t frightened you all away! LOL
