A belated welcome to 2011 everyone and I am hoping you are all eager to start sewing again. Yes, the festivities are now over and I feel we need to be revitalised and begin some new projects. My New Year’s resolution is to bring fresh inspiration to my SewHappy followers. With this in mind I am announcing my new Quiltalong. I would love you to join in. Here are the details and schedule:

On the first of each month, beginning on February 1st, I will publish the pattern and instructions for 2 blocks. The Quiltalong will run for 9 months. The last set of instructions will be posted on October 1st.
Each block measures 6.5” square and you will be sewing 8 blocks each month (4 of each design)
I will continue to post 2 blocks each month until we have completed the required amount of blocks after which I will be posting the patterns and instructions for piecing the blocks  together and the borders.
The finished quilt will measure 70” x 86”.
The instructions will involve both piecing and appliqué.
The quilt will suit either a colour scheme of your choice or can be totally scrappy. I will be showing two versions. Either way, you should be able to use fabrics you already have in your collections.
I will be starting a Flickr page on the Internet and if you would like to take photos of your blocks as we progress through the quilt, we can publish them and see how everyone is progressing.

I guess this Quiltalong is a type of Mystery as you actually don’t know how it will look when finished. Next week I will be showing a glimpse of each of my two versions I don’t want to give too much away but I hope it will be enough to tempt you to join in. I will be posting details of fabric requirements later this month.

If you are interested in joining me in this Quiltalong please add your name to the comments section below and email me at Contact Me and I will post your name and share your progress here on the website. If you have a blog, a link will be included.

Come on Quilters! Let’s do it! Sign up now.

I love the site and really look forward to my email telling me you have more exciting things have only resently got into quilting so your ideas have really inspired me. I am into making cushions so the love one is a good starting point as it has made me think of using other words for other occasions. The Dolly material is lovely and Fat Quarter site great. thank you again for a inspiring site.
