Vignette Magazine

I may be ‘teaching your grandmother to suck eggs’ here. That is, maybe I have been a bit slow on the uptake. But, in case I haven’t, I thought I would tell you about this new magazine that I have just discovered.

It is an Australian magazine by Leanne Beasley of Leanne’s House and it is delightful! If you like stitcheries, this is for you. If you like recipes, this is for you. Or gardening? Or creativity? Or inspiration? Then this is for you.

The magazine is only slim, with around 35-40 pages, but it is contains beautiful colour photos, ideas and  patterns. It costs $17.95 (Australian dollars) and is published quarterly. Only two issues have been published so far.

It contains the most delightful Mystery Quilt. I definitely want to make this. (like I have time!)

If you would like to know more visit Leanne Beasley’s blog. It also lists stockists on her website.

Now, tell me was I slow on the uptake? Or did I know something that you didn’t?

  1. Hi Marion. You didn’t say what part of the world you live in. Let me know and I will see if I can suggest somewhere.

I am not clever at computing, facebook, blogging, etc. but would like to order Vignette, current nd back copies. Can anyone tell me how I can do this. Thanks.

  3. Hi Daisy
I used two strands of standard embroidery thread. I used Anchor, but DMC is good too. Glad you have been inspired. I hope you enjoy. Incidentally, I am Lesley, (not Leanne, who is the designer of the quilt).

  4. Leanne,

I just discovered your website and was able to obtain all 3 of the issues that are out already and have ordered a hexie template and want so much to make a Hexie Quilt. I was wondering which of the embroidery threads you used for all the embroidery and what kind of needle you use as the thread looks thicker than my standard embroidery threads. I am so looking forward to my next issue of Vignette.

    thanks, Daisy
