Instructions

Centre pattern sheet behind one piece of calico and trace stitchery design on to fabric with pencil.

Baste wadding behind traced calico. I glue baste mine with 505 Temporary Adhesive Spray.

505

Sew Stitchery design using back stitch and satin stitch for centre of flowers. I use 2 strands of embroidery thread.

Press stitchery design.

Using heart template from pattern, centre heart over stitched calico and cut out heart shape. Cut a second heart shape from other piece of calico.

Place calico heart shapes right sides together and sew together using ¼″ seams. Leave a 2″ gap in stitching for turning through.

Trim bottom point of heart and cut a notch at centre top of heart to avoid puckers when turning through (as shown).

Heart stitched together

Turn stitched heart through to right side and press.

Stuff heart fairly firmly with toy stuffing. I break up my stuffing as I stuff to avoid lumpy stuffing.

Invisibly slip stitch opening together.

Attach a hanging ribbon and bow.

You are now ready to hang your heart (not on your sleeve though).
