Bib Challenge

Ooohhhh…. I have gone off on a tangent again! This has been fun and brings me to my first ‘Challenge’ for you all.

I have been brainstorming on what I could make for a couple of  forthcoming baby births. As my sister-in-law is expecting twins next month and a friend is expecting her first baby in September, I needed something quick and simple. Then it came to me. What about some baby bibs, but patchwork ones! They would be original and certainly not time consuming, as my time is always at a premium.

So, here is what I came up with……..

Baby Bibs

Now, don’t you think that was a good idea! These are easy to run up anytime you want to give a small gift to a pregnant friend or for a simple baby shower gift, but still allows your creative side to run wild.

OK and now for the ‘Challenge’. On Thursday I will post a basic bib pattern and some instructions. I would then like you to have a go and make your own creative bib/bibs. If you would like to join in with this Bib Challenge then please e mail me here Contact Me and I will post your name as a participant here on the site. If you have a blog, a link will be included. Then, once you have completed your bib/bibs (three maximum per person), e mail me a photo/photos. I will publish as many photos as possible, depending of course on how many I receive. But, you can always follow other participant’s progress on their blogs. After the deadline (June 25th) I will choose a winner and announce it here on the site.

The winner will receive this prize, which consists of Baby Shower pattern, a bunble of baby fabrics, 3 metres of co-ordinating ribbon and pack of buttons.

Bib Challenge Prize

I like the idea of this Challenge very much as it serves two purposes. Firstly, it allows you to use up some of those tiny fabric scraps that you all store for ‘just in case….’ and secondly the projects will not be wasted as there will always be somebody who becomes pregnant. Must be something in the water!

So, I do hope you decide to participate. Let me know in the Comments what you think of this idea for my first ‘Challenge’ , which I have made a very simple one. Remember to check in on Thursday for the bib pattern and instructions.

  1. Okay, I am pretty sure that I will soon regret that I do this now (due to the fact that there is always too little time) – but I wanna take part in the challenge! After all, with the little man around (7 months) I really can use another bib. So it would be not just for fun! 😉
