Christmas Projects

Wonky Christmas Trees

I made this Christmas Quilt in around 2005. The idea was inspired by a quilt by Sandy Gervais and I devised a way of organising a fabric swap for it during the classes that I taught as there were so many different fabrics needed. Each student then stacked up their fabrics and cut the shapes from each stack before rotating the fabrics to ensure each block contained differnt fabrics. It sounds compicated but it worked! Once again no measuring was involved. Just cut up and sew back together again.

Christmas Throw

I designed this quilt for Christmas 2008 for my students here in Spain, although some of my old UK students made it too. All the blocks have been hand appliqued with blanket stitch, although some students chose to machine applique. My quilt shown is still waiting to be quilted.
