Quiltalong – piecing quilt blocks together.

Well, the time has arrived to begin piecing together the SewHappy Quiltalong blocks. This is what the quilt blocks will look like when you have pieced them all together.

Here is where your accurate piecing will come into play and you may wish to refer to my Tips for Accurate Piecing Tutorial before you begin.

Go to Quiltalong – September for this month’s instructions for piecing your quilt blocks together.

Please note: I notice I made a minor error in the August instruction. For the medium size quilt you will need to cut a few more 2½″ squares. I have amended the document and you will need to download again.

You do have a fair bit of sewing ahead of you here but we are now nearing the end. You will only need next month’s quilt border instructions for your final set of instructions to complete the quilt. This will involve both piecing and appliqué.

So you really are is sight of the finishing line now. Hopefully you will enjoy sewing and watching it all come together. I am looking forward to seeing photos of your finished quilts and I think everyone will enjoy viewing all your different colour choices.

We are now fast approaching the sewing season, so keep on sewing and as always, let me know how you are getting on. If you have a quilt blog, I hope to read some of your quilt blogging too to see how you are progressing.

Onwards and upwards!

Hey! Quiltalongers! What have we here?

Can you guess what this is?

It is a stack of ALL my pieced Quiltalong blocks for two large size quilts.

88 blocks in total.

I thought I would show you, just to keep you inspired.

I have sewn all my pieced blocks, as I need to keep a step ahead of you all. You obviously don’t have all the remaining instructions  to complete yours yet. But, this is what you have to look forward to. I just need to finish the last of my appliqué blocks and then I will start to sew all the blocks together and I guess you are probably wondering how we will be doing that. Ahhh……… well all will be revealed in September.

In the meantime keep on a-sewin’!
